We’ve been looking for a Thai restaurant that has more authentic tastes within the Ottawa area and Phuket Royal came up as an Instagrammable spot on blog sites. I mean obviously we weren’t going to base the restaurant on how picture worthy the outside mural was [LOL okay maybe a little] but it did pop up on my radar this way. Check out the amazing photo of the outside taken by Mikey G on Flickr!
This restaurant exceeded expectations for the following reasons:
- We were given complimentary lemongrass tea in a pot right away
- It was very clean
- The server was very friendly and everything came efficiently
- The food felt very real to Thai food I’ve had in the past – comparable to fairly good ones in Toronto really!
We ordered some spring rolls, skewers, and I had chicken pad thai for my main. What a great decision! Sometimes I go around eating the exact same dish to see which one is better and boy was I not disappointed!
If you’re visiting Ottawa and looking for somewhere quick and tasty in Chinatown, Phuket Royal has made the top of the list! If you’re lucky and there is no car parked by the mural, you can take an A+ photo just outside. ๐
- Service: 10/10
- Food (serving size and flavour): 10/10
- Location: 9/10 for sort of inconvenient street parking
